Intro to BlueSkyBeef
Within the past few decades, changes in the agricultural industry have given cause for concern. Commercial beef-raising practices involve hormonal over-injection, over-medication, and over-feeding of animals. Dye and water is added to store-bought beef products to give colour and weight. These practices severely decrease the meat’s nutritional value—yet beef prices continue to rise.
Laurry Orr has raised cattle on his family farm for over 40 years. His cows typically calve-out in late winter months. All of the animals are fed homegrown hay. During warmer months, the animals freely graze on native prairie grasses. In 2002, laurry decided to finish feeding his own animals instead of selling them at auction. He arranged for processing and sold the cut and wrapped beef to his family and friends. Since then, Laurry’s list of yearly customers has grown exponentially. They have come to appreciate the delicious, homegrown, all-natural products of Blue Sky Beef.
